Shares of digital auto insurance company Root (NASDAQ:ROOT) fell 10.2% in the morning session after its third-quarter earnings report showed a net loss, which overshadowed beats on revenue and earnings per share (EPS).
An on-paper loss for the third quarter actually reflects sales wins through Root Insurance's partnership with car-seller Carvana, the company said.
